Party mood on a rainy day

I woke up to the rain again. It started to get really cold yet the coziness in my room kept increasing. My dog Baby and I slept in to the hypnotizing rain but eventually she woke me up. Then I figured, "Ah, I'm going to make a white party dress", so I began.

She is a 2003 February Amethyst Barbie. I like her makeup. What she is wearing is a really cheap low-quality doll dress (non-Mattel) customized by me; I made it sleeveless, much shorter, added plenty of lace under her skirt, and stuck lots of crystals on her straps. The crown came from the toyline Nutcracker and Barbie; I put some crystals on it.

Her shoes! They were borrowed from the Diana Ross Barbie. I decorated them with those crystal flowers. They are amazing now. =)

I call this one Party Queen.

First try

Yesterday I tried to make a shirt for a Barbie doll, but it turned out to be a total disaster. You might think it looks good in the picture, but in fact the quality is so poor that I threw it away after photoshooting.

So I used a Solo in the Spotlight reproduction doll, with the leggings of a Harley-Davidson Barbie , the handbag from the Spa Getaway Giftset Barbie, and the shoes of a Modern Circle Simone:

The beginning

In this blog I will attempt to change many things around me, and perhaps even myself some day. I love Barbie collectible dolls, and I also love fashion. One day, somehow an idea popped into my head telling me that I should do something to my dolls rather than just boringly display them; in other words, I should "play" with them. Isn't that what Barbie dolls were created for?

So let me begin this blog. I think it's a great idea to have a blog that contains a combination of most of my hobbies -- Barbie dolls, imagination, fashion, photography, and writing. At least my long-distance boyfriend Ivan will always be my loyal reader. How did we become long-distance? Long story; I was deported back to the City of Rain while he is having a bright start in his career in the City of Extremity. Off the topic.

Here's the real deal:

This is a 2003 February Amethyst Barbie. Kind of old-fashioned.

This is my new creation: A Holiday Barbie designed by Bob Mackie in the re-decorated February Amethyst Barbie dress. I think it does look pretty cool. ;-)

Which is a Princess of Portugal Barbie in the re-decorated Nutcracker Barbie outfit. Her shoes came from the Juicy Couture Beverly Hills Giftset P&G Barbie. I personally love it a lot! But it did take some time because I had to use an extra thin needle and it was extremely difficult to pull the string through the needle's eye...

That's it for today. I think it was a pretty good start!
